R. Allen to Command ESN's Small Business and Veterans Affairs

solutions, announced today that it has named Gregory R. Allen
Executive Director for Small Business and Veterans Affairs.

veteran-owned company. Sixty-four percent of ESN's employees
are veterans.
In Allen’s 30-plus years of experience, he has been
a strategic partner with the Departments of Veterans Affairs,
Defense, Commerce, Treasury and Agriculture. In his new position,
Allen will help ESN align with our customers’ mission,
goals and strategic plans.”
Founded in 1995, ESN is an engineering, IT and business consulting
company based in Arlington, VA, that specializes in military
and government contracts and is dedicated to employing our
nation’s veterans. Its customers include the U.S. Navy,

As ESN’s Veterans Affairs and small business representative,
Allen’s duties include leading corporate policy, strategic
planning and business development.
His experience includes working for 8(a), SDB, Hub-zone,
woman-owned and Native American small businesses. He has
worked with the Small Business Administration, individual
agency OSDBUs and large-business prime contractors. Also,
he is active in the Industry Advisory Council’s Small
Business Shared Interest Group initiatives in support of
small business interests in federal contracts.
Through his efforts in support of veterans and small businesses,
Allen has become recognized as an adviser to VA senior managers
in several administrations. He is a member of the American
Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, and is a lifetime member
of Disabled American Veterans.
In addition, Allen provided engineering, management and contracts
support to various Navy weapons engineering efforts, receiving
a letter of commendation from NAVSEASYSCOM. His defense work
includes operation of the NAWCAD data center in Patuxent
River, MD, and engineering support for NAVSEA’s BRAC-mandated
move to the Washington Navy Yard.

Allen is a Navy Surface Warfare combat veteran who served
on the Multi-National Peacekeeping Force in Beirut, Lebanon.
