Engineering Services Network, Inc. (Corporate Press Release)

Firms Learn How ESN CEO Ray Lopez Propelled His Deck Plate Expertise Into a
Multimillion-Dollar Business With Navy

ARLINGTON, VA (June 19, 2008) – ESN CEO and President Raymond F. Lopez Jr. will reveal his “Success Story: Why Do Business With the Navy” June 19 at the second annual Department of the Navy’s Blue Coast Small Business Training and Opportunities Conference, “Utilizing Your Toolkit for Tomorrow’s Navy.”

“I started ESN in part because I wanted to remain close to the Navy, even after retirement. Working with the Navy family today and with other veterans, sometimes it feels like I never left the service,” Lopez said.

Under Lopez’ leadership, Engineering Services Network Inc. has grown from its first $25,000 task order to a technology leader with more than $22 million in revenue in 2007, on track to earn more than $50 million by 2011.

Lopez will share his success story at 10:15 a.m. June 19 and take questions afterward. The event is part of the Joint Warfighting Conference 2008 “DoD Capabilities for the 21st Century: Dominant - Relevant - Ready?” June 17-19 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.

Lopez served his country for more than 29 years before retiring from the Navy and becoming president and CEO of ESN.

“The leadership skills and commitment I acquired in the Navy helped me start ESN and have carried me well into the corporate environment,” Lopez said.

Based in Arlington, VA, ESN is a small, service-disabled veteran-owned (SDVO) firm providing engineering, IT, operational testing, financial management and program support services to the DoD, Navy, Army, Air Force, Marine Corps and other federal customers. ESN was recognized last year by the Hispanic Business 500 and the Inc. 5000.

Since his retirement, Lopez has focused on building ESN to more than 170 employees and offices throughout the U.S. and worldwide.

A graduate of the Defense Department Mentor-Protégé Program, Lopez is a strong advocate for small business participation in DoD and across the federal government. He believes that a veteran-owned business should be one of the linchpins providing solid, trustworthy service to DoD customers.

“ESN is a company that stands ‘Shoulder To Shoulder’ with its customers and is proud of its service to our country,” Lopez said. “We are honored to contribute to our national defense – whether it’s testing or training at sea, or running an IT help desk, or working on the deck plates of a Navy ship.”

ESN offers its customers a wide segment of skills and services.

For example, the ESN team of more than 10 strategic experts provides services in seven zones identified in the SeaPort-e contract, with depth of experience in command, control, communications, computers, intelligent and surveillance, reconnaissance (C4ISR); combat systems (CS); hull, mechanical and electrical (HM&E); ordnance, mission; and force protection systems.

ESN provides federal government information technology (IT) services and solutions, C41 SR engineering/execution, I/O engineering, independent verification and validation and information assurance support.

(Engineering Services Network, Inc.) is a trusted leader in engineering and technology solutions. For more than a decade, we have been proudly standing shoulder to shoulder with our military and government customers, delivering critical services for missions that matter. ESN provides services in five key areas: engineering and technical support; strategic and program management; testing and evaluation; operations support; and information technology.

Based in Arlington, VA, ESN has regional and field offices throughout the U.S. and worldwide. Founded in 1995, ESN has achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification.
