ESN Wins $11 Million Defense Department Contract

ARLINGTON, VA (Dec. 3, 2007) – Engineering Services Network Inc. (ESN), a trusted leader in engineering and technology solutions based in Arlington, VA, has been awarded an $11 million contract to support to the Department of Defense Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.

“ESN is excited to work with the Defense Department and its small business programs to further their goals of bringing small business technologies and products to the market,” ESN President and CEO Raymond F. Lopez Jr. said.

The contract entails one base year, at nearly $2 million, plus four option years, for a total of $11,173,988. ESN is a service-disabled, veteran-owned company.

Under the contract, ESN will provide program management support to the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition, Technology & Logistics), Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP) in Arlington, VA.

“We look forward to implementing our intellectual know-how with their commercial expertise to provide them with innovative solutions fit for today’s global economy,” Lopez said.

ESN stands shoulder to shoulder with its military and government customers, delivering critical services in engineering and technical support, strategic and program management, testing and evaluation, operations support and information technology.
For the contract, ESN will hire at least six employees to support requirements in program management, conference management, program outreach, analysis, administration and quality assurance.

The DoD SBIR program is a premier source of innovative technology solutions, seed money and direct access to the United States’ high-tech small business research and development industrial base, enabling the war fighter with a technological edge. In addition, SBIR aims to increase private-sector commercialization of innovations derived from federal research and development.

ESN has teamed with BRTRC, a women-owned small business headquartered in Fairfax, VA, to support this contract.
