ESN’s Dennis Groh Joins Board of the Independent Telecommunications Pioneer Association (ITPA) National Capital Chapter

ARLINGTON, VA Dennis Groh, chief marketing officer at Engineering Services Network, Inc. (ESN), a leading provider of professional engineering and technology services for military and government customers, has been named to the Board of the Independent Telecommunications Pioneer Association (ITPA) National Capital Chapter.

 

ITPA is the volunteer organization created by and for the independent telecommunications industry. Dedicated to community service, ITPA says it has been serving the public on behalf of telecommunications companies for over 88 years. ITPA represents over 9,000 telecommunications employees and retirees nationwide.

The National Capital Chapter of the ITPA is the Washington, DC, metropolitan area association of telecommunications professionals. Officers and board members are telecommunications and IT professionals from industry and government. The group’s focus is to serve its communities through good work, add value to sponsor companies and organizations, preserve its industry history and provide leadership and networking opportunities.

 

“I have been a member of this group since 1989, and I am honored to be a board member on the ITPA National Capital Chapter,” said Mr. Groh. “We’re a fraternal organization of trusted advisers and confidants. We provide a sounding board for industry and a guiding light for charities, from walk-a-thons for cancer, to the Capital Area Food Bank.”

Mr. Groh, who joined ESN in 2007, has more than 35 years of experience in managing acquisition and information technology resources in the public and private sectors. At ESN, his duties include helping generate business development initiatives and opportunities to lead ESN toward achieving its new business growth goals and objectives. He leads ESN’s growth, sales and marketing strategy through business development activities and strategic planning.

 

Mr. Groh is instrumental to ESN’s effort in establishing new business alliances, cultivating strategies for establishing partnerships, and forming business relationships. He participates in deal negotiations, contract development and leading new business expansion projects.

               

Before joining ESN, Mr. Groh was executive director of business development for federal civilian programs at RS Information Systems in McLean, VA.  His extensive background includes senior-level management posts at STG Inc.; Siemens; Computer Sciences Corp; and Boeing Information Services.

 

As a member of the Senior Executive Service, Mr. Groh is the former Deputy Assistant Commissioner at the Federal Technology Services, General Services Administration. In this position, he was responsible for managing the Federal government's billion dollar plus FTS2000 and FTS2001 long-distance telecommunications programs providing voice, data, video, wireless, and satellite services to more than 150 government agencies around the world, as well as assisting with the coordination of restoring services at the Pentagon, and New York City after the September 11th  terrorist attacks.

 

As the former Director of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Information Technology Procurement Organization, he was responsible for more than 90,000 information technology and telecommunication contracts with a life cycle value in excess of $12 billion for the Department of Defense and sixty five (65) Federal Agencies providing support that ranged from traditional government procurements, natural disasters, and providing Desert Storm support.
